Saradayanam
Saradayanam
Chapter 1 – The Daughter of Tradition
In a South Indian city, where temple bells welcomed every sunrise, lived Someshwara Sastry. His life was built on devotion and discipline.
He came from a long line of Vedic scholars. For generations, his family had studied the Vedas, performed sacred yagas, and served the divine. For Sastry garu, devotion to Ammavaru was not just faith — it was the very purpose of his life.
His wife Janaki lived a simple and content life at home. She rarely stepped outside, as her world revolved around the family. She arranged pooja items for Sastry garu, prepared prasadam, cooked with care, and kept the home filled with warmth and devotion.
At the center of this peaceful home was their only daughter, Sarada.
To Sastry garu, she was more than just a daughter. He never called her by name. Instead, he always addressed her as “Amma.” In his eyes, she was a blessing, like Goddess Saraswati herself.
Sarada grew up with love and discipline. Her voice was sweet and her singing soulful. She was also brilliant in her studies, earning admiration from teachers and neighbors alike. Graceful, humble, and talented, Sarada was loved by everyone.
Though their family was small, their home was full of harmony. At a time when traditions were slowly fading, many people looked at Sastry garu’s family as an example of how devotion and values could shape a meaningful life.
For Sarada, the world was simple — her father, her mother, and the traditions they lived by.
She never imagined that one day her life would take a turn that would question everything she believed.
Because sometimes, the most protected lives face the greatest storms.
And Sarada’s journey had only just begun.

Chapter 2 – A Protected Fairytale
For many years, Sarada’s life moved gently like a fairytale — calm, protected, and untouched by the chaos of the outside world.
Someshwara Sastry, though deeply traditional, was well aware of the changing society. To ensure his daughter remained focused and safe, he made sure Sarada studied only in girls’ schools and women’s colleges throughout her education.
Sarada was naturally beautiful and graceful. Many young men in the colony quietly admired her, yet none ever dared to cross a line. Her simplicity, dignity, and traditional upbringing created a silent respect around her.
Along with grace, Sarada possessed remarkable intelligence. She secured an excellent rank in IIT, a dream for many students. But the institute required hostel stay, something Sastry garu could never accept for his only daughter.
Understanding her father’s feelings, Sarada chose a reputed women’s engineering college within the city without hesitation.
Though raised in a traditional home, Sarada was far from unaware of the modern world. She stayed away from social media and unnecessary distractions, yet remained well informed about society and current happenings. She simply knew where to draw the line.
Observing this maturity, Sastry garu never felt the need to impose strict restrictions on her.
Another surprising quality of Sarada was her excellent command over English. Despite growing up in a purely Telugu traditional household, she spoke with clarity and confidence, earning admiration from teachers and classmates alike.
Life continued peacefully — prayers in the morning, Sarada’s music in the evenings, and the quiet happiness of a small devoted family.
Everything seemed perfectly balanced.
But sometimes destiny waits patiently before introducing the moment that changes everything.
And very soon, Sarada’s protected world was about to meet a person who would unknowingly begin her true journey — Saradayanam.

Chapter 3 – The First Storm
Life was moving peacefully for the small family until an unexpected tragedy shook their world.
During Sarada’s engineering studies, Janaki passed away due to sudden health problems. It was something neither Sarada nor Sastry garu had ever imagined, even in their worst dreams.
Her loss left a deep silence in their lives.
For a long time, both father and daughter struggled to accept it. The house that once felt warm and lively now seemed incomplete. Slowly, with faith in the gods they worshipped and the strength they found in devotion, they learned to move forward.
But the emptiness Janaki left behind could never truly be filled.
With her mother gone, Sarada’s responsibilities naturally increased. Having watched her mother closely for many years, she already knew how to manage the household. The real challenge was balancing both her studies and home duties.
Sastry garu made sure she was not alone in this. Whenever needed, he supported her and helped in every possible way.
In Janaki’s absence, the bond between father and daughter grew even stronger.
Despite the grief and responsibilities, Sarada stayed focused. She completed her engineering with top rank in her college, earning appreciation from teachers and everyone around her.
Many wondered how she managed to achieve so much while going through such a difficult time.
But for Sarada, it was simple.
It was the strength her mother had quietly taught her… and the faith her father had always lived by.

Chapter 4 – The Opportunity
Fayaz was an accomplished IIT graduate who had built his career through talent and hard work. Over the years, his technical skills and leadership helped him grow into a Program Manager in a reputed multinational company.
Handsome, confident, and known for his integrity, Fayaz was admired by many. But he always stayed focused on his work and never allowed distractions to affect his goals.
He strongly believed in encouraging young talent. That is why he liked participating in campus recruitment drives, hoping to find promising students at the beginning of their careers.
During one such drive, a profile immediately caught his attention.
It was Sarada’s.
Her academic record and achievements impressed him greatly. When Sarada walked into the room, Fayaz was surprised. Her simplicity, grace, and traditional appearance stood out instantly.
As the interview went on, his respect for her only grew. Sarada answered questions clearly, solved technical problems confidently, and remained calm throughout.
By the end of the interview, Fayaz had no doubts. He recommended her selection, and the rest of the panel agreed.
That year, Sarada received the best package offered in her college.
When Sarada shared the news at home, Someshwara Sastry felt proud and relieved. The salary details did not matter much to him. What mattered was that his daughter had earned a position in a reputed company through her own merit.
Since Janaki’s passing, Sastry garu had often thought about Sarada’s marriage. But he never wanted to interrupt her education. He knew that once marriage discussions began, many uncertainties could arise.
Being a man of tradition, he believed that after marriage a woman should live with her husband and his family. So he had decided to look for a suitable groom only after Sarada completed her studies.
Now that her education was finished and she had a job offer, he felt the next stage of her life had begun.
For the time being, he allowed Sarada to start her career and thought they could discuss the future at the right time.
Sarada, meanwhile, was excited.
For the first time, she was stepping into a world beyond her home and college.
A new life.
A new journey.
And a promising career waiting ahead.

Chapter 5 – A Perfect Professional Sync
Impressed by Sarada’s ability, Fayaz convinced the management to include her in his team. Sarada was also happy to work under him, as she had already heard about his leadership and professionalism.
Very soon, they became an effective team.
Their understanding seemed natural. Many times, Sarada would suggest ideas that matched exactly what Fayaz had been thinking. At the same time, Fayaz understood her approach without needing long explanations. Their coordination felt effortless.
But this natural teamwork slowly created jealousy among some team members. A few assumed Fayaz must have briefed Sarada earlier, as they could not accept that their ideas aligned so well on their own.
The management, however, only looked at the results.
With Sarada in the team, the project performance improved, and the client appreciated the quality of their work.
Within six months, the client recommended Sarada for an onsite opportunity, something that rarely happened so quickly.
But Sarada politely declined. Because of her family responsibilities, she could not travel abroad. In fact, she was even ready to leave the job rather than go against her family.
Understanding her situation, Fayaz spoke to the client and decided to travel onsite himself to handle the work.
Even then, their coordination remained strong, and the client never felt Sarada’s absence.
Meanwhile, inside the office, rumors slowly began to spread. Some colleagues started assuming that there was something more than professionalism between them.
But Fayaz and Sarada both knew the truth.
Their connection was built only on mutual respect, trust, and professional understanding.

Chapter 6 – Between Duty and Heart
While Sarada’s professional life was growing, Someshwara Sastry had quietly started searching for a suitable groom for her. For him, horoscope compatibility was the most important factor, something he would never compromise on.
At work, Sarada continued to receive appreciation and rewards for her dedication. Though success was not new in Sastry garu’s home, this time it brought him special happiness. Ever since Janaki’s passing, Sarada had rarely looked truly cheerful.
Now things seemed better.
She managed her demanding job while also taking care of the household just like her mother once did. Watching her handle everything with maturity filled Sastry garu with silent pride.
Sarada usually avoided office parties, as they often went late into the night and made her uncomfortable. Knowing this, Fayaz arranged the project success celebration during the daytime so she could attend.
Her presence was important, especially because she was receiving the Best Performance Award.
During the event, two names were heard again and again — Fayaz and Sarada.
Many people celebrated their success, while a few watched with quiet jealousy.
After the event ended and most people had left, Fayaz approached Sarada.
For months he had admired more than just her work. Her clarity, discipline, simplicity, and strong values were rare in today’s corporate world. The way she balanced tradition, responsibility, and ambition had deeply impressed him.
What began as admiration slowly became genuine affection.
Believing that a life partner should share both understanding and values, Fayaz felt Sarada was that person.
With courage, he finally expressed his feelings and proposed to her.
Sarada was completely surprised. She had never expected this, especially from Fayaz.
Somewhere in her heart, she knew she trusted and respected him deeply. But she also knew her reality — her father, her family, and their traditions.
Her mind said no, but her heart quietly said yes.
Unable to answer, Sarada simply said it was getting late and left.
That night, her mind was restless.
Because she knew one truth — after her father, Fayaz was the only person who understood her so completely.
And having someone like that as a life partner could be beautiful.
Yet she also knew…
Some choices are not just about love.

Chapter 7 – The Waiting
When it comes to love, professionalism, position, education, and maturity often lose their place in a man’s heart.
The same was happening with Fayaz.
Even though he was a senior leader in the company, he now found himself waiting for Sarada’s answer like a college student waiting for a reply from someone he truly cared about.
That night, neither Fayaz nor Sarada could sleep.
The reason was the same — but their thoughts were different.
Fayaz was filled with hope.
Sarada was filled with worry and responsibility.
At home, Someshwara Sastry was happily thinking about Sarada’s recent achievements. He felt proud seeing his daughter succeed in her career.
He noticed some tension on her face, but he never imagined the real reason.
For the first time in her life, Sarada had hidden something from her father. She did not have the courage to tell him what was troubling her.
Sastry garu simply thought she might be missing her mother, the one person who was not there to see her success.
A few days passed.
Everything looked normal at the office, but between Fayaz and Sarada there was a silent exchange of questions and thoughts.
Finally, one day during a coffee break, Fayaz gathered the courage to ask her again.
Sarada answered honestly.
She explained her family situation, her father’s beliefs, and the traditions that guided their life.
“I cannot go against my father… and he will never agree to this,” she said.
For Sarada, it was a clear answer shaped by duty.
But for Fayaz, it meant something different.
He felt that Sarada was not rejecting him — the real obstacle was her father.
In that moment, Fayaz felt hopeful. He believed that with patience and sincerity he could convince Someshwara Sastry.
What he did not realize was one simple truth.
He was not standing before a small obstacle.
He was about to face a mountain of tradition and belief.

Chapter 8 – The Bold Step
One Sunday evening, Fayaz came to Someshwara Sastry’s house with his parents.
It was a bold step. Very few people would dare to do something like this. But Fayaz was determined. He believed Sarada was worth facing any challenge in life.
Convincing his parents had not been difficult. They trusted his decision and supported him. Though Fayaz knew there might be resistance from society, he believed he could handle it.
As they walked through the narrow street, many neighbors watched with curiosity. Some thought they had come for a spiritual consultation. No one imagined the real reason behind their visit.
Inside the house, Sastry garu and Sarada were surprised to see them.
Sarada introduced Fayaz politely as her reporting manager from the office. Until then, Sastry garu had no idea why they had come.
Soon the atmosphere became tense.
Even Fayaz, who confidently handled difficult clients and complex projects, suddenly felt nervous. Standing before Someshwara Sastry, his voice trembled.
With hesitation, he finally said what he had come for.
He wished to marry Sarada.
For a moment, the room fell silent.
Someshwara Sastry stood speechless. The proposal had come completely unexpected.
After a few moments, he regained his composure. Following the principle of “Athithi Devo Bhava,” he first offered them tea with respect.
Only after that did he speak.
His answer was calm but firm.
According to his beliefs and traditions, Sarada could only marry someone from their own community. It was the dharma he had followed all his life, and he could not go against it.
There were no arguments and no long discussions.
Just a quiet and final decision.
Understanding the answer, Fayaz and his parents silently left the house.
As they walked away, Fayaz turned back once from the end of the street.
What he saw hurt more than the rejection.
Sastry garu had already started the purification ritual of the house. The next day he even called priests to perform a complete suddhi ceremony.
During all this, Sastry garu never questioned Sarada and never spoke a word about it.
But that silence hurt Sarada the most.
Because sometimes…
silence carries deeper pain than words.

Chapter 9 – When Life Turns Without Warning
Life sometimes changes in ways no one expects.
Fayaz and Sarada were people who could handle difficult projects, manage tough clients, and solve complex code. But when it came to their own lives, they suddenly felt helpless.
What once seemed manageable now felt overwhelming. Their world had been shaken.
For Someshwara Sastry, the situation felt like a warning. He felt things were slowly going out of his control. So he decided to act quickly.
He began searching seriously for a suitable groom for Sarada.
After some time, he found a young man who seemed perfect — educated, well-mannered, and from a respected family within their community.
Soon the groom’s family visited Sastry garu’s house to see Sarada.
Everything happened according to tradition.
During the visit, the groom politely asked if he could speak privately with Sarada.
Sastry garu was not comfortable with this. He did not believe in such conversations before marriage. But since guests were present and the proposal seemed promising, he reluctantly agreed.
Sarada and the young man sat down to talk.
During their conversation, the topic of Fayaz unexpectedly came up.
All her life, Sastry garu had taught Sarada one important rule — never lie, no matter the situation.
Remembering that lesson, Sarada chose to be honest.
She told him the truth.
The conversation did not go well.
The young man did not ask many questions, but he understood enough. He quietly finished the conversation and returned home.
Later, he spoke with his parents.
Though they were also traditional people, they found the situation difficult to accept. After discussing it, they decided not to continue with the alliance.
Soon the message reached Someshwara Sastry.
He felt deeply disappointed. But he could not scold Sarada.
After all, she had only followed the very value he had taught her — to always speak the truth.
But the matter did not remain private.
Within a short time, the news began to spread.
What started as a quiet family matter slowly turned into whispers across the community.
* * *
Chapter 10 – A Father’s Determination
Despite the whispers in the community, Someshwara Sastry did not stop searching for a groom for Sarada. He believed it was his most important duty as a father.
Meanwhile, Sarada carried a silent burden.
At work, she handled difficult projects. At home, she took care of all the responsibilities her mother once managed. There was no one with whom she could share her feelings.
She quietly balanced work, home, and the storm inside her heart. As the situation became more complicated, she even kept her distance from Fayaz.
After many efforts, Sastry garu finally found another match.
It was not the perfect alliance he had once hoped for, but given the circumstances, it seemed like the best option.
The groom’s family already knew about the earlier incident involving Fayaz. Still, out of respect for Sastry garu — and impressed by Sarada’s beauty, character, and career — they were willing to move forward, though they had their own quiet doubts.
After the guests left, Sastry garu indirectly told Sarada that the marriage would soon be finalized.
For the first time in her life, Sarada spoke against her father’s decision.
She knew that if she stayed silent now, she might never get another chance.
With great hesitation, she shared what had been growing in her heart for months.
She said that during this time, she had developed feelings for Fayaz. Marrying someone else while carrying another person in her heart would feel wrong — unfair to herself and unfair to the man she would marry.
Her voice slowly faded as she spoke.
She could not continue.
For the first time ever, Someshwara Sastry raised his voice.
“SARADA!”
The sound echoed through the house. It felt as if even the walls were hearing that tone from him for the first time.
The sharpness of his voice sent a chill through Sarada. For a moment she felt she might faint, but somehow she gathered her strength.
Without saying another word, and still respecting her father, she quietly walked to her room.
Sastry garu, overwhelmed by his emotions, slowly walked toward the pooja room — the only place where he had always found peace.

Chapter 11 – A Heart Caught Between Love and Tradition
Deep inside father part of Someshwara Sastry knew something.
If community and tradition were kept aside, Fayaz was probably the best person for Sarada.
But the values he had lived by all his life would not allow him to accept Fayaz as his son-in-law. His family had always been seen as a symbol of tradition. He could not imagine breaking that legacy himself.
A painful conflict began inside him — between his heart and his beliefs.
The weight of it became too heavy.
His fragile heart could not handle the turmoil.
Sarada was the first to recover from the shock of their argument.
She knew exactly where her father would go in such moments — the pooja room.
When she rushed there, the sight froze her.
Someshwara Sastry was lying on the floor, completely motionless.
Panic took over.
“Nanna garu… Nanna garu…” she cried again and again. But there was no response.
Fear filled her mind.
The world around her seemed to disappear.
Slowly, the warmth of a cup of coffee and the familiar voice of Fayaz brought her back to reality.
Her eyes were swollen from crying. When she looked up, she noticed something — Fayaz had been crying too.
For a moment, their eyes spoke what words could not.
Fayaz offered her coffee. Sarada gently shook her head.
But he insisted. He knew she needed strength.
Only then did she begin to understand what had happened.
After seeing her father lying unconscious, she had instinctively called Fayaz. She had not explained anything — she had only cried.
That was enough.
Without wasting a second, Fayaz rushed to Sastry garu’s house in his car. Together, he and Sarada quickly took him to the nearest hospital.
Now, Someshwara Sastry was in the ICU.
Outside the ICU, Sarada and Fayaz sat quietly side by side, waiting for the doctor’s update.
The silence around them felt heavier than any words.
* * *
Chapter 12 – Waiting for the Verdict
A nurse broke the silence and told them that the doctor wanted to see them in the counselling room.
Sarada immediately put down her half-finished cup of coffee and walked toward the room with trembling steps. Her mind was full of fear and questions.
Fayaz wanted to hold her hand and support her, but he stopped himself. Instead, he quietly walked beside her.
They both sat in front of the doctor, waiting anxiously.
The doctor spoke first.
“He is out of danger.”
Those words instantly brought relief.
He explained that Someshwara Sastry had suffered a mild heart attack. Because of his disciplined lifestyle and healthy habits, his body had managed to withstand it.
However, a few blockages were found. They would need to be cleared with a procedure in the coming days once he became stable.
The doctor also appreciated their quick action in bringing him to the hospital on time. He said that even a small delay could have made things much worse.
That was enough for them.
They didn’t need to hear anything more.
A huge weight lifted from their hearts.
For the first time in hours, they could breathe normally again.
Sastry garu was still under sedation. Sarada quietly went to see him and stood beside his bed without disturbing him.
But Fayaz did not step inside the room.
Soon, a few relatives and family friends began arriving at the hospital.
By the time they gathered around Sarada…
Fayaz had quietly disappeared.
* * *
Chapter 13 – Recovery and Silence
There was very little communication between them; things simply moved forward on their own.
Someshwara Sastry underwent the procedure successfully, and the doctors were satisfied with the outcome. He was discharged with instructions to take one month of complete rest, avoid stress, and follow his medications carefully before slowly returning to his routine.
Some relatives stayed back to help Sarada, though their support was often half-hearted. Meanwhile, Fayaz helped quietly in the background, making sure things were arranged whenever needed without drawing attention to himself.
The relatives had plenty to gossip about, which hurt Sarada, but she had no time to worry about it. She politely hinted that she could manage things on her own, though even that was misunderstood by some.
Gradually, Sastry garu recovered and began returning to his normal life. Visitors sometimes appreciated Sarada’s timely action and mentioned Fayaz’s help, but Sastry garu never acknowledged or responded to it. He simply remained silent.
* * *
Epilogue – The Journey Continues
It didn’t take long for Fayaz to realize that he was one of the reasons behind everything that had happened. Without thinking twice, he accepted a job opportunity abroad. Before leaving, he removed his presence from social media and cut off all connections, almost like a social disappearance, so no one would know where he was.
Sarada was not happy with his decision, but she had no choice except to silently accept it.
Life at Sastry garu’s house became mechanical. There were no conversations between father and daughter, and they avoided facing each other. A maid was hired, and she slowly became the only medium of communication between them.
The irony of life was painful. Once, they could not imagine a day without seeing each other. Now, they lived under the same roof with no words to share.
With no clear direction or destination, Sarada continued her journey through life — quietly moving forward in her own Sarada Yaanam.
